The city of Lyon has two airports. The larger, Lyon St Exupery Airport, is a modern facility that has flights from all over Europe and North Africa as well as Montreal in Canada. The smaller facility is Lyon Bron Airport (airport code LYN). From this facility car rental in Lyon Airport is easiest.

The smaller Lyon Airport is one of France's oldest. It opened for business in 1920 and continued to offer access to the city and the surrounding Rhone Alpes region until 1975, when all scheduled airline services moved to Lyon St Exupery. Lyon Bron is now a major hub for business and private craft.
