Location information for Dublin Airport

Dublin Airport is the biggest airport in the Republic of Ireland, and it's located outside the city, in the Fingal area. However, Dublin City is just over six miles to the south; it's easily accessible by bus, taxi and cheap car hire in Dublin Airport. More than 20 million passengers use the airport each year.

Several large airlines have their headquarters at Dublin Airport. The biggest budget airline in Europe, Ryanair, is based here, as is the Republic of Ireland's national airline, Aer Lingus. Several popular long-haul flights also depart from Dublin Airport, including the Etihad route to Abu Dhabi, as well as a number of US departures.

Dublin Airport is close to two major motorways, the M60 and the M1. Travellers heading to the west and south of the Republic will find the M60 most useful, as it bypasses the city centre. Passengers heading to the city with car rental in Dublin Airport should take the M1 south. The M1 terminates to the east of the city, near the port area.

Facilities providing car hire in Dublin Airport are open from 06:00 to 23:00 every day. Five of the biggest rental car names offer the chance to book a vehicle on arrival. A further five operators require travellers to book their vehicle in advance. This group is made up of some local firms, as well as bigger names such as Thrifty and Enterprise.

Dublin is the capital of Ireland, and as such, it has a huge number of things to see and do. Visitors should take the chance to see some of Dublin's famous parks and ancient monuments. Of course, no trip to Dublin is complete without a trip to a traditional Irish pub. There are several popular bar areas around the city centre.
